The A State of Trance short film was recorded during Armin van Buuren's residency at UNVRS Ibiza. According to We Rave You, it was made with psychotherapist Rachel Giddings and director Izah Muller.
The project moves attention away from the booth and towards people listening and dancing together. Shared emotions and encounters between strangers become part of the subject. It is a documentary exploration of club experience, rather than clinical proof that music produces the same psychological effects for every listener.
